Sleep-disorder screening

Sleep Disorders Questionnaire

The Sleep Disorders Questionnaire is a broader sleep-disorder screening instrument. This page is for clinics. It is not a diagnosis of a specific sleep disorder and not a public test.

What is the Sleep SDQ?

The SDQ covers several sleep-disorder domains rather than a single insomnia total. Clinics use it to organise sleep-history collection, not as a stand-alone diagnosis.

Development and clinical use

Douglass and colleagues published the Sleep Disorders Questionnaire in 1994, drawing on earlier Stanford sleep-questionnaire work. Confirm the official form, length, and scoring conventions before using it in a live pathway.

A focused client experience

Sleep SDQ is completed as a focused self-report and stored for clinician review. This public page does not collect answers or return a score.

  • One question at a time with visible progress
  • Large keyboard-operable response choices
  • Previous, next, and answer-review steps
  • Clear confirmation that results go to the clinic

Designed to make evidence easy to review

The downloadable synthetic example illustrates report layout using invented response patterns, without patient data or instrument questions.

  • Named instrument, version, and provenance
  • Item-level response pattern without source wording
  • Methodology, references, and clinical boundary
  • Responsible clinician review rather than automated conclusions

Understand the measure and its scoring conventions

Published scoring conventions may exist in official materials. This public page does not independently verify scoring, cutoffs, or a production scoring rule. Use the official form and scoring instructions for the version you intend to use.

What clinics ask before they evaluate the Sleep SDQ

These answers stay inside educational catalogue scope. They do not replace official manuals or clinician judgement.

Does SDQ diagnose a specific sleep disorder?

No. It is a screening questionnaire. Diagnosis remains a clinician task.

Can I complete it here?

No. This landing is educational catalogue information.

How is SDQ used on Lirena?

As a sleep-intake self-report. Clinicians review domain patterns with history and investigation as appropriate.

Is this the same as the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire?

No. The child SDQ is a different instrument. This entry is the sleep-disorders questionnaire.

Bring a sleep pathway. See it run in Lirena.
